2 Dry Stone Wall Cheekends, West Lothian

A length of wall built to seperate a vehicle and predestrian gate.

A repeat customer, Interested in a section of wall being built on their driveway to seperate a predestrian and electric vehicle gate.

The stone used in this build was sourced from the customer’s property. This was a mixture of field stone dug out from the old driveway and remains of a wall once in the house.

It was an interesting task building with stone that was intended for the use of stonemasons with motar. The faces varied from dead flat to top over hanging with flared corners and higher at the back. A lot of chieseling to reshape the stones had to be done to fit as they should in a dry stone wall.

The bottom 2 Photos are on the Sunday of Storm David. These were taken 30 minutes apart, a true representation of weather in Scotland!
